Exceptional Family Member Program
The Exceptional Family Member Program (EFMP) is designed to provide support to military family members with special needs. EFMP is a mandatory enrollment program that protects federal entitlements and military benefits of special needs family members.
Parent Resources
Under the umbrella of the EFMP you have:
- EFMP-FS (Family Support)
- EFMP-FS Navigator
The Family Support function provides information, referrals, parent education, and recreational events. All three functions work together and with other military and civilian agencies to ensure EFMP families have an enhanced quality of life as they relocate around the world with their sponsors.
The EFMP-FS Coordinator serves as a liaison between EFMP families, federal and local state partners. The EFMP-FS Navigator works closely with families to provide the necessary resources and support while identifying services and programs that meet the families’ needs.
The EFMP-FS Coordinator and Navigator provide the benefits of the EFMP and serve as links to all other Military and Family Readiness programs and services. In addition, the EFMP-FS team partners with local military organizations and outside community resources to meet the needs of the military family.
